While the Gympie Family History Society library is open most Saturdays, once a month the society conducts a meeting where we get together to chat, discuss, suggest, inform and decide on what the society as a group are doing, and would like to do. Reports and Correspondence are presented and submitted. All Members are encouraged to attend, and invited guests are permitted.
Meetings will be around 45 to 90 mins, with tea and coffee provided afterwards, so come for the discussions and planning, and stay for a chat, on this subject, or anything family history and or Gympie related.

While the Gympie Family History Society Inc is dedicated to collecting and preserving local family histories and regional social history, the conduct of our General Meetings are slightly more formal affairs where I’s need to be dotted and T’s crossed, and as the name suggests they are held monthly.
We try to sandwich it between other activities which are interesting, such as a friendly morning tea and a historical show & tell.
At the General Meetings the society groups present their reports for the month and the society members make decisions on society processes and activities, acquisitions and directions, as well as initiate ideas about fundraising, and propose thoughts on marketing and strategic planning, just to mention a few purposes.
Anyone is welcome to attend our General Meetings, but you must be a member of the society to participate in voting and decisions.
