GFHS Interest Group – FAMILY TREE MAKER (FTM), Wednesday 9th July 2025

9 July @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Gympie Family History Society Class on Family Tree Maker

FTM, the Family Tree Maker program is a fantastic tool, especially if you have always wanted to organise your family research, attach photographs after digitising your albums, keep all your documents and BMD registers associated with the various members of the tree, produce a book, or just begin to build your family tree, then this talk is for you.

Karen and Denise will assist and guide, or discuss and talk about Family Tree Maker (which is one of many commercial software packages available today, and an offline & online program which is reasonably priced and has enormous capabilities and possibilities that everyone can master in a short amount of time with little computer experience.) The session will opened to run as a step-by-step on how to add people to your tree, add children, uncles and grandparents, as well as show the actual process of adding data, documents, or images to each of the associated people, or even the more detailed aspects of adding DNA to this stand alone program.

This interest group will be meeting on the first Wednesday of every month at 1pm, and will be held in the Gympie Family History Society rooms at 1 Chapple Street Gympie (down under the Rattler Railway Station, and across from Soma Soma). The group and discussion will be around 60 mins, or more if interest warrants it, so bring your questions. If your really keen, bring your laptop, and learn how to start the process of inputting data for your own family tree.

Tea and coffee will be provided, so come for the group, and stay for a chat, on the this subject, or anything family history and or Gympie related interests.

Remember, our library facilities, rooms and members are available to assist your family history research needs before or afterwards.
