GFHS Annual General Meeting, Saturday 13th September 2025

The Gympie Family History Society will conduct their Annual General Meeting on this particular Saturday, to elect committee members for the coming society year. All members are encouraged to attend, and invited guests are welcome.
If you are interested in taking on a position in the committee, or nominating a member for a position, you must be a current member of the Gympie Family History Society Inc to be elected or to attend this specific meeting. Please note – try and contact the Secretary at least 21 days prior to the AGM date to help with organisation.

Participation and support is always essential to the operations and survival of a volunteer society. Please come along and offer your support for the dedicated volunteers, or possibly to assist, even with a small roll or at some small level. It all helps.

Reports and Correspondence for the previous year will be presented and submitted. Please come and have your say on the running of the society. Meetings will be around 60 to 90 mins, with tea and coffee provided afterwards, so come for the discussions and planning, and stay for a chat.

About our Annual General Meeting

While we try to sandwich it between other activities which are interesting, such as a friendly morning tea and a historical show & tell.

The Gympie Family History Society Inc is a friendly and casual group of like minded people dedicated to collecting and preserving local family histories and regional social history. The conduct of our General Meetings as the name suggests are monthly meetings held as slightly more formal affairs of the society’s function where I’s need to be dotted and T’s crossed to continue to run the society as a self funded volunteer organisation.

At an Annual General Meeting a new society committee is formulated for the coming year. These positions needed to be filled are President, Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian, Advertiser, Webmaster, Researcher and Projects officers as well as assistants for each if possible. The society members then make decisions on society processes and activities, acquisitions and directions, as well as initiate new ideas about fundraising, and propose new thoughts on marketing and strategic planning, just to mention a few purposes.

Anyone is welcome to attend our General Meetings, our Annual General Meetings are for members and invited guests only, because you must be a member of the society to participate in voting and decisions.
