Or you can become a GFHS member to access all this for free in our rooms.

Reasons to join us

Members can access online websites in our rooms during opening hours

  • ancestry.com (international records)
  • My Heritage (international records)
  • The Genealogist (UK records including a map explorer)
  • familysearch.org

You must use the computers in our rooms during opening hours to access these websites.

More database collections will be added in the future when there is member or client demand for it.

Other reasons to join are 

  • access to the library and all its resources during opening hours
  • attend monthly meetings with guest speakers,
  • receive research advice, for example when facing a ‘brick wall’
  • host events to share their passion and expertise, and
  • join a team to complete projects.

Membership fees

Membership is from 1 September to 31 August.  The fee is

  • ​Single person: $50.00 per year
  • Family: $60.00 per year
  • Pensioners: $40 per year

A Family is two members of an immediate family residing at the same address.

To join us complete the membership form and make payment by

  • online bank transfer or direct debit, or
  • at our office by cash or eftpos.

Bank details are included on the membership form.
