Between 1867 and 2020, more than 160 Provisional, State, Private and Independant schools have been established within the current boundaries of the Gympie Region, and the past boundaries of the Cooloola, Kilkivan and Widgee Shires.
The first few schools in the Wide Bay region were non-government schools, the first being in March 1868 and the first National school being in September 1869.
Sunday schools have not been identified in this publication.
